- An in-app “I can’t start” troubleshooter, also available as standalone: https://icantstart.eu
- Per-row comparison estimates
- A “Tasks for later today” section on the Today screen

Changed: New prioritization algorithm
Task Compass now ranks your tasks with a new algorithm pair, chosen after side-by-side testing against the previous one. It settles the top tasks and their order in fewer comparisons. If you’d rather keep the old behaviour, Settings has a “Prioritization Algorithm” picker with a Legacy option.
Added: Recurring reminders
The New Reminder form now has a Repeat section with Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Yearly presets, plus a Custom mode for intervals, specific weekdays, day-of-month or Nth-weekday rules, and an end condition. It matches the shape of Apple Reminders’ own repeat UI, and recurrence rules created elsewhere are preserved even when they use options this form doesn’t show.
Added: “I can’t start” troubleshooter
A guided set of questions that helps you work through why a task feels stuck. It was previously only on the website; it’s now available from inside the app.
Also available as standalone: https://icantstart.eu
Added: Per-row comparison estimates in Plan Today/Tomorrow
Each “Find the top N tasks” row now shows its own estimate of how many comparisons that choice needs, instead of a single global number on the last row that didn’t always match the row you tapped.
Added: Tasks for later today
The Today screen has a new button below “other tasks” that links to tasks due today but scheduled for a later hour. Future-dated reminders no longer vanish from view.
Added: Bulk unschedule on the “other tasks” screen
The Edit button on the “other tasks” list (under Plan Today/Tomorrow) lets you select several tasks and unschedule them all at once, undoable as a single action.
Changed: Consistent swipe actions on every task row
Every task row now uses the same swipe model: swipe right to complete (full swipe supported), swipe left for a small tray (reschedule to Today/Tomorrow, Edit on a list screen) ending in “More”. No destructive action sits on either swipe edge; Delete stays in the task’s detail view.
Changed: “Plan tasks for today” button is clearer
On the Today screen, the button that opens the planning sheet is now hidden when there’s nothing to plan, and when it does appear it shows how many lists and tasks the sheet would draw from (for example “2 lists, 7 tasks”).
Changed: Tighter “comparisons needed” estimates
The high end of the “comparisons needed” range in Plan Today/Tomorrow is now calculated more accurately, cutting the typical overestimate substantially, especially when starting a fresh prioritization. The number is now a calibrated estimate rather than a guaranteed ceiling, so it can very rarely run one or two comparisons over what was shown.
Changed: Notes trimmed of surrounding blank space when displayed
Comparison cards, the top task on Plan Today/Tomorrow, and the Top Priority widget now strip leading and trailing blank lines from a task’s notes before showing them, so the card or row no longer grows to fit empty space. The stored note text is untouched.
Changed: Reschedule menu’s clear action is no longer styled as destructive
The red “Unschedule” action at the bottom of the due-date menu is now a plain “None” entry near the top. Undo already makes an accidental clear easy to reverse.
Changed: More of the app translates
Undo and redo action names in the system Edit menu, and the Reminders permission status lines in Settings, now follow your language instead of always showing in English.
Changed: visionOS build restored
Task Compass and its widget compile and run on visionOS 26 again.
Fixed: Live iCloud sync without restarting the app
Changes made on one device (a new comparison, for example) now appear on your other devices within about a minute. Previously the app didn’t register for push notifications, so a device wouldn’t pick up remote changes until it was force-quit and relaunched.
Fixed: Onboarding permission screen stuck in English
The first-launch “Task Compass Needs Access” screen showed its permission name, purpose, and details in English regardless of your language. All three now translate.
Fixed: Raw ID shown as the title on the “Select Lists” screen
Custom Compass workspaces showed a raw identifier instead of the workspace name at the top of the list-selection screen. Every surface now shows the same human-readable name.
Fixed: App reopening on the Tomorrow tab
The app sometimes relaunched on the Tomorrow tab instead of the tab you left. It now always opens on Today.
Fixed: Lock Screen widget issues
The rectangular Lock Screen widget centres a single-line title correctly, and the widget no longer asks for comparisons it doesn’t need when only the top task is shown.
Fixed: Widgets empty on macOS
Home Screen and menu bar widgets stayed empty on macOS because the app never wrote their data there. They now populate.
Fixed: New Reminder list selection per workspace
New Reminder now remembers the last list you used separately for each workspace, and when a workspace includes exactly one list it’s preselected.
Fixed: Ranked rows in the Plan Today/Tomorrow sheet
Ranked rows and “other tasks” rows in the planning sheet and results screen now support long-press menus and swipe actions like the rest of the app.
Fixed: Undo added for several actions
Swiping a task to schedule it for Today/Tomorrow, the bulk Set Due Date / Move to List / Unschedule actions, editing a task’s title inline, and reassessing a task can now all be undone.
Fixed: Duplicate resistance stats across devices
Reassessing or deferring a task on a device other than the one that first recorded its resistance stats no longer creates a duplicate stats record.
Fixed: Comparison sheet stuck when the tapped count matched the default
Tapping a “Find the top N tasks” row for the count already saved as the default now advances the sheet instead of doing nothing.
